Exercise Physiology and Sports Nutrition
Research Projects Staff Infrastructure Publications Collaboration

The research group is internationally well recognized for its expertise on:
- Oxygen uptake kinetics during onset of exercise, both in athletes as in specific patients groups (e.g. mitochondrial myopathies)
- The physiological role of carnosine in skeletal muscle metabolism, including the application of beta-alanine supplementation in sports nutrition
- The Muscle Talent scan: a non-invasive estimation method for muscle fiber type composition by magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS)
- Sports physiology in relation to aquatic sports (e.g. sailing, rowing) and team sports
