ANSER Summer School 2024
Date: July 1–5, 2024 - 9:00 am to 4:30 pm CEST

Purpose of the course:
This course introduces the participants to the comprehensive concept of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). This will be done through presentations by internationally renowned experts and interactive engagements with fellow students from diverse cultural backgrounds. At the end of the training, students will be more aware of the importance of SRHR and the effects of SRHR research and policies on future generations.
Intended learning outcomes:
Understand the basics of SRHR, including global trends, progress and challenges.
Examine multidisciplinary considerations of SRHR and how to link it to broader policies, such as the Sustainable Development Goals.
Learn from intercultural discussions and collaborations.
How does the Summer School plan to reach this goal:
by offering an accessible online educational program, accompanied by online social events
by providing scientific-based courses, brought by international experts
by utilizing ‘blended learning’ with, interactive classes in which the students are challenged to actively participate
Number of participants: 30 participants
Programme:
Topics that will be discussed are:
- Sexual and gender minorities
- Abortion
- Maternal Health
- Cervical cancer, HPV and STI’s
- Sexual violence
- Climate Change & SRHR
- Female Genital Mutilation
- Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)
- Among others
Minimum requirements:
Students should fulfil the following criteria to apply for participation:
- be formally registered or enrolled in a Master’s or Graduate programme for the academic year prior (2023-2024) or subsequent (2024-2025) to the Summer School
- have a specific interest in SRHR, global health and women’s rights
- have sufficient knowledge of English to understand the courses, read SRHR-related articles and qualitatively complete a written exercise
- be open, interested and respectful towards other beliefs and backgrounds
- have full availability to follow the course, we expect participants to actively engage throughout the course from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4:30 pm
- be less than 35 years old when the course starts
ANSER Summer School 2024 fee: € 100
Students from institutions in LMIC can apply for a fee waiver upon selection.
This fee covers all classes and course materials, access to the online learning platform, and includes a certificate of completion.
