Contract research services
The Laboratory of Aquaculture and Artemia Reference Center (ARC) has extensive research experience in the fields of aquaculture and marine biology. We have access to natural seawater, a bacterial (pathogen) culture collection, and various fish and invertebrate research models (including a gnotobiotic Artemia model). Our modular experimental systems allow for tailor-made experimental designs, including microbiology and feeding trials.
We can perform experiments and sample analyses for both academic and the industry sector, such as:
· Culture of live feed such as Artemia brine shrimp and rotifers
· Live feed hatching, enrichment and toxicity trials
· Artemia cyst quality control
· Fish and shrimp feeding trials
· Fish challenge trials
· Proximate analyses and fatty acid profiling of aquaculture and marine samples
· Gene expression analyses
· Flowcytometry
· …
Experimental rooms are also available for rent, with the option for water recirculation, various tank sizes and shapes. Additionally, we also organize training courses on life feed and hatchery techniques.
