- N-3 fatty acids in the diet of sows
The effects of adding different sources of n-3 fatty acids in the diet of sows has been investigated on the reproductive performance, and vitality and fatty acid composition of their offspring. The transfer of n-3 fatty acids from linseed oil and fish oil as a source of α-linolenic acid and long-chain n-3 fatty acids respectively was studied. Effects on the oxidative status of sows and piglets were also taken into account.
