ir. Olivier Bonte
Olivier Bonte specializes in hybrid modelling, (eco)hydrology and land-atmosphere interactions.
Bio
During my master’s degree, I joined H-CEL as a thesis student. My dissertation focused on combining data assimilation and machine learning for rainfall-runoff modelling with the Probability Distributed Model (PDM). This research sparked my interest in combining data-driven and process-based modelling approaches, which led me to pursue a PhD on hybrid modelling. Currently, I am working on developing a differentiable, hybrid model for terrestrial evaporation based on the Global Land Evaporation Amsterdam Model (GLEAM). As a teaching assistant, I am also responsible for giving the computer practicals for several courses within the Land, Water and Climate specialization of Bioscience Engineering: Land-Atmosphere Interactions, Climate Change Processes and Water Resources Engineering.
