About
Els completed the Msc. Agro- and Ecosystems Engineering at KU Leuven. Funded by a Floribert Jurion grant (KAOW 2022) she conducted her master’s thesis research in the Dominican Republic on the effect of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on plant growth in organic banana intercropping systems. In May 2024, she started her doctoral research in the laboratory of SoFer on the agronomic benefits and ecosystem services provided by legumes in various cropping systems. This research fits within the European project LEGENDARY and is supervised by professor Steven Maenhout and professor Steven Sleutel.
