Pezhman achieved his MSc degree in soil science and plant nutrition from Ankara University. His study mainly focused on soil biologic characteristics, nutrition, and agro-waste management in arid soils. His dissertation was "Effect of long term organic-inorganic fertilization practices on soil microbial biomass in Mediterranean Turkey." After his graduation, he started his Ph.D. in SOFER on N management in intensive organic agriculture with emphasis on the N mineralization process. He also has co-operated in the Agrimax project (“Agri and food waste valorisation co-ops based on flexible multi-feedstocks biorefinery processing technologies for new high added value applications”), funded by European Union.
