YOUR ASSIGNMENT
- You spend at least 70% of your assignment on applied scientific research in the field of processing cereals and small-seed crops for humans and animals.
- You help to develop the research line, you participate actively in the research, write project proposals and publish research results (papers,…)
- You supervise PhD students.
- You actively participate in the education at bachelor and master level as (co-)lecturer and are part of the team of assistants and education supervisors of the department.
- You supervise students in the context of internships, bachelor's and/or master's theses.
- You actively participate in the department's services.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You are holder of a doctoral thesis degree.
- For degrees obtained outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence from NARIC must be submitted. The diploma requirements must be met on the date of appointment.
- You have already conducted research in the field of processing technology of cereals and/or other seed crops and have a good knowledge of the physical and chemical quality aspects of derived products for human and/or animal nutrition.
- You have distinguished yourself as a promising researcher during your doctoral research.
- You have relevant peer-reviewed scientific publications in international and national scientific journals in the research domain, which have a wide distribution.
- A good knowledge of the sector is highly recommended.
- You have a keen interest in student supervision in academic training.
- You are open to innovation.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a temporary appointment of 3 years. A second appointment of up to 3 years can follow, subject to a favourable evaluation of the first term
- Even if you have already been appointed earlier (whether or not at another university and whether or not in the same field of discipline) in a first term of up to three years, you can apply
- The second appointment does not have to be immediately connected to a first term Your appointment will start on 1 May 2024 at the earliest
