Sofie Schryvers

Sofie Schryvers is a young researcher in the field of food safety. Her main interests go out to risk analysis of chemical hazards in plant-based foods.
Sofie received an MSc degree in Bioscience Engineering: Food Science and Nutrition in 2021 from Ghent University in Belgium. Following her graduation, she joined Ghent University as a PhD student in 2021.
Sofie’s thesis had the aim to gain a better understanding of the risk management process and to improve the decision-making process of complex food safety issues. It focused on finding ways to introduce evidence-based methods into the field of food safety risk management.
