ASSIGNMENT
This part-time position (50%) of lecturer in a tenure track system is filled at the Department of Green Chemistry and Technology (Faculty of Bioscience Engineering). Background information on the career policy of independent academic staff and job levels can be found via this link.

The core activities are academic education, scientific research and scientific services within the domain of process monitoring and optimisation. Here, research is specifically expected to be developed complementary to ongoing research within the department/faculty and to focus on monitoring and optimisation of green and circular technologies.

 

Academic education

The candidate is expected to contribute to the education of the Department of Green Chemistry and Technology by teaching course units related to process monitoring and optimisation within the faculty's various programmes (bioengineering, industrial engineering, international and interuniversity master's programmes). Specifically, the tenure track lecturer will be initially responsible or co-teaching in the following course units: ‘Smart sensors’, ‘Process control’, ‘Integral process design’ (Campus Kortrijk) and ‘Instrumental process and quality control’ (Campus Schoonmeersen). The language of instruction in these subjects is Dutch. The candidate uses activating forms of learning. This teaching assignment will change after a few years to course units related to process monitoring and optimisation on the UGent campuses in Ghent (Schoonmeersen, Coupure).
