Bio

To improve food production in sub-Saharan Africa in the midst of climate change, investing in crop management practices that are efficient in both nutrient and water use is important. Her research focuses on conservation agriculture (CA) and integrated soil fertility management (ISFM), studying their effects on soil quality (physical and chemical) and on maize yield. To evaluate soil quality at a low cost, her research is developing visual soil evaluation protocol (VSE) that can be used by smallholder farmers in Africa.
