Impact of electric pulses on marine species
Pulse fishing with electrified trawls are a promising alternative for beam trawls. It is currently being evaluated for catching shrimp and sole. However, little information is available on the effect of these electric pulses on marine vertebrate and invertebrate species.

Aortic rupture in Friesian horses
In horses, aortic rupture is very rare. Interestingly, more than 40 cases in the Friesian horse breed have been reported so far. These aortic ruptures occur spontaneously, in the absence of trauma, infectious disease or iatrogenic injury. The research tries to elucidate the pathological mechanisms of this unique syndrome.
