BIM Handbook
BIM (the Building Information Model) introduces a technological revolution in the design, construction and management of buildings and infrastructure. Because of the improved tools for information management, BIM allows designing, construct and operate constructions in a more reliable, faster and cost-efficient manner.
Realising this dream is only possible when clear agreements and rules for collaboration are set and respected by all actors in the building life-cycle. VBA, G30, ORI, regulation authorities and IFMA joined for this reason in a BIM working group to elaborate a BIM handbook with best practices for the construction industry in Belgium. This handbook is presented in an open BIM colloquium on October 20th, 2015.
The department of Architecture and Urban Planning at UGent (Pieter Pauwels) contributed to this handbook as one of the academic members of the ADEB-VBA BIM working group, as well as the department Batir of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB – François Denis)
