EPICOOL: revision EPB calculation method cooling and overheating
The EPICOOL-project, funded by the Brussels Institute for Environmental Protection, started in 2009. The project consortium took on the EPB calculation method for cooling and overheating.
The research group Building Physics revised the calculation of the cooling demand in offices and schools, evaluated the applicability of the overheating indicator for non-residential buildings and developed calculation methods for intensive ventilation.
Arnold Janssens suggested a number of modifications of the cooling demand calculation. Kim Goethals proposed an adapted version of the overheating indicator and developed calculation methods for opening windows, intensive daytime ventilation and night ventilation.
