Gentiel Acar

Since 2023, Gentiel Acar has been a researcher at UGent and a supervisor for the course Building Physics. He also mentors master’s theses and bachelor’s projects focused on insulation materials, with a special emphasis on their reuse.

Gentiel graduated in 2023, with the highlight of his academic career being his thesis on the reusability of rock wool insulation from flat roofs. This research set the stage for his current work, in which he is expanding his research to various insulation materials and their applications.

To further develop his knowledge and skills, Gentiel attends various lectures and establishes contacts with companies in the construction sector. Additionally, he is involved in a project that calculates the environmental impact (LCA) of different building typologies, which are representative of contemporary construction practices.

With his dedication and passion for sustainability and innovation, Gentiel Acar actively contributes to advancements in the field of building physics and insulation technology.
