Biography
Hong Wan Chan (°1990) graduated in engineering-architecture in 2013. Between 2014 and 2016, she worked on projects of various scales for architecten Els Claessens en Tania Vandenbussche (Brussels & Ghent). She is currently a teaching and research assistant at the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning. By employing historical maps, local gazetteers, oral history and in situ mapping, she develops specific landscape biographies for this area, in which the transformation of the landscape according to different tempos and layers are made visible. Drawing plays a key role in her work, both as research tool and as final output. She has presented her findings at various international conferences and has published in SPOOL, A+ and De Witte Raaf.
