ESPON Belgian contact point

AMRP is responsible for the coordination and the central secretariat of the Belgian contact point for the ESPON 2020 Cooperation Programme. The contact point consists of three partners that represent the three Belgian regions: Ghent University (AMRP, prof. Luuk Boelens) for Flanders, the VUB (Cosmopolis, prof. Kobe Boussauw) for Brussels and the ULg (LEMA, prof. Jacques Teller) for the Walloon region.

The contact point carries out the communication and dissemination on the ESPON 2020 programme in Belgium. Concretely, this means that we spread the communication and dissemination around the program in Belgium:

• the research results and translate them to the Belgian context for the stakeholders
• the ESPON activities like publications, events, and so on
• render assistance for ESPON calls on applied research or analysis

This is done through newsletters, info days, synthesis reports and meeting reports. Furthermore, we also organize two working meetings per year to exchange ideas about the ESPON network in Belgium and to discuss research questions and results, and their scientific and political relevance.
