Modelling and prediction of WAAM component using machine learning
Residual stresses play a significant role in the life and performance of the wire& arc additive manufactured (WAAM) component. The main goal of this project is to provide fundamental insights into the relation between process characteristics, microstructure, residual stresses and mechanical properties of WAAM steel components. Detailly, a combination of finite element modelling and machine learning implementations will be built to realize a desired microstructure with the minimum residual stresses and smallest manufacturing defects.
