IDLab team KNoWS recognized as a key innovator in EU project Onto-DESIDE
(23-07-2024)
The Open Circularity Platform for semantic interoperability through ontology-based data documentation and decentralized sharing in the Circular Economy is recognized as an important EU project innovation.
Using Linked Data and the Solid protocols, and powered by technologies such as RML.io and Verifiable Credentials, this decentralized data sharing platforms allows actors in a circular economy to securely share those pieces of data they see fit.
About Onto-DESIDE
A circular economy is a system designed to reduce material use, redesign materials to be less resource intensive and recapture waste to manufacture new materials and products. The Onto-DESIDE project will address the main challenges facing industry that prevent the efficient sharing of data and making it understandable and usable by humans and machines. The project will establish a shared vocabulary for data documentation with a decentralised digital platform, allowing secure collaboration and privacy protection. The project will develop models for a wide range of materials and products. Three industry study cases from different industry domains will be used for the research, development, and evaluation of the cross-industry applicability of the solutions
