Floor covering
The Centre for Textile Science and Engineering (CTSE) is the market leader for the classification of textile floor covering for many years.
- EN 1307 for woven, knitted, tufted carpets, flat & structured needle felt carpets and textile floor coverings without pile
- EN 14215 for mechanically produced carpets
The head of the department floor covering Didier Van Daele is member of many standardisation committees and of the PRODIS commission for homologation of ECRA (European Carpet and Rug association). PRODIS is a unique monitoring and information system for quality and environmental and safety aspects of textile floor coverings.
Artificial turf
ERCAT is part of the Centre for Textile Science and Engineering and is accredited by the main sports federations for classification of artificial turf: FIFA for football turf, FIH for hockey turf and World Rugby for rugby turf.
