On Tuesday 8 October, the partners of the ValCelMat project met for the first time in Béthune, at Université d'Artois. The partners took the opportunity to present their organisation and their role in the project.

The ValCelMat project aims to valorise cellulose in new applications (packaging, textiles and additives for bioplastics). The cellulose will be chemically modified to give it new functionalities (resistance to humidity, fire, etc.) while retaining its good intrinsic properties (absence of toxicity and biodegradation). The modifications and subsequent transformation into final applications will be carried out using innovative and environmentally friendly processes.

Partnership: Université d'Artois | Materia Nova | HOGENT | Université de Picardie Jules Verne | Ghent University (CTSE)

ValCelMat is an Interreg France-Wallonie-Vlaanderen project, co-financed by the European Union | Provincie Oost-Vlaanderen | Région Wallone
