Overview

RC01

Robby Caspeele is professor in Structural Reliability at Ghent University (UGent) since 2013 and one of the technical directors of the Magnel-Vandepitte Laboratory for Structural Engineering and Building Materials of Ghent University. He is furthermore head of the “Structural Reliability” research group which consists of around 10 Ph.D. and postdoc researchers. For more information about research topics, you can visit the webpage Concrete Structures.

Robby Caspeele received his M. Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering from Ghent University in 2006. From 2006 to 2010 he was a Research Assistant of the FWO Research Foundation of Flanders. In 2010 he obtained his Ph. D. degree in Civil Engineering at Ghent University. From 2010 until 2013 he was a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University. Currently, he is Associate Professor in the field of Structural Reliability at the Department of Structural Engineering and Building Materials (UGent, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture). His main areas of expertise relate to full-probabilistic and semi-probabilistic structural reliability analysis and risk management of structures, structural robustness, analysis of concrete and steel structures, assessment of existing structures, production and conformity control, numerical simulation techniques and large-scale testing.
