(09-05-2024)
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Mr. Julio Ariel Dueñas Santana as a visiting PhD student to the SFE@UGent team. Coming from the Department of Modeling and Engineering Risk and Complexity (MERC) of the Scuola Superiore Meridionale (School for Advanced Studies) and the University of Naples Federico II, Mr. Dueñas has conducted his research on developing a Risk Assessment- Safety Management framework (RA-SM) linked with the economic, societal, and environmental aspects which can be applied to the sustainable energy production, the chemical industry, and extended to other fields (such as civil structures) under the supervision of Prof. Almerinda Di Benedetto (University of Naples Federico II) and Prof. Ernesto Salzano (University of Bologna). Julio’s one-year collaboration with the team of prof. Ruben Van Coile will focus on developing new dynamic models for the fire risk assessment and their integration into the aforementioned framework. We warmly welcome Mr. Dueñas to our community and look forward to the innovative contributions his work will bring.
