Md Maidul Islam joins the SFE team as a new PhD researcher

We are thrilled to welcome Md Maidul Islam to the SFE@UGent team as a PhD researcher. Maidul earned his MSc in Fire Safety Engineering from Ghent University (Belgium), following BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (Bangladesh).

Maidul's expertise lies in fire safety engineering with a strong background in managing industrial fire safety assessment and remediation program. His current research is centered on developing a value of information (VoI) based fire testing procedure as part of the ERC-funded AFireTest project led by prof. Ruben Van Coile, aiming to optimize fire testing and enhance risk evaluations by integrating value of information and machine learning with fire science principles.

We are excited to embark on this new chapter of collaboration with Maidul and look forward to his contributions to our team!
