Collaborations with the professional field
The Doctoral Regulations of the Faculty offer the possibility and describe the steps to take to have collaborations with the professional field recognized as a transferable skills course in the doctoral training programme.
Art. 3, § 10
A collaboration with the professional field (for example: a private company, a public institution, NBB or ECB, … ) can be recognized as a transferable skills course in the doctoral training programme. In order to request this recognition, the doctoral student provides a description of the planned collaboration before the start of it to the Scientific Research Committee. This description needs to contain:
- the concrete objectives of the collaboration,
- the duration of the collaboration (at least 10 working days) and
- the skills that will be acquired (with explicit allocation to one or more transferable skills clusters used by the doctoral schools)
After the realization of this collaboration the doctoral student provides this description - together with a confirmation thereof by the partner in the professional field - to the Doctoral Schools.
This description is sent before the start of the collaboration to the secretaries of the Scientific Research Committtee – Damien Decorte and Pieter Blondeel – and will be scheduled for approval on the following meeting.
