European institutions
Since its inception, the European Union (EU) has been a symbol of peace and prosperity on the European continent and beyond. With the progressing climate emergency, the Russian expansionist behavior, and a surge of authoritarianism worldwide, the EU and other international institutions have been put to the test. Our research focuses on how EU policy, politics, and governance work together on multiple levels to tackle these existential challenges. Additionally, by drawing on a wide range of methodological approaches, we investigate EU elite and public opinion about how to make our future more secure and sustainable through deepening and widening European integration.
