Short bio:
I obtained a Master’s degree in Sport and Movement Sciences (Physical activity and Health) and a Bachelor’s in Nutrition and Dietetics. Currently, I am a PhD student at the Physical Activity and Health group at Ghent University. My research investigates the relationships between physical activity, sedentary behaviour, dietary intake and sleep in adults aged 55 to 75, by taking a more holistic approach. Additionally, aim to examine how individual and contextual factors – such as emotions, stress, fatigue, social and physical environment - influence these behaviours. To capture these dynamics, I will conduct an intensive longitudinal observational study with a measurement burst design between January and December 2025, incorporating time-based ecological momentary assessment (EMA). In this study, multiple observations from the same participant spaced closely in time will be collected. This enables us to map individual behaviour changes over time and uncover unique patterns of change for each participant. Based on the findings, I am to develop a personalized mHealth intervention delivered via smartphone to support behaviour change.
My study is called “Leefwijzer 55+: inzicht in gedrag en gezondheid”.
