Short bio:
I am doing a joint doctorate, at the Ghent Health Psychology Lab at Ghent University and at the MOVANT research group at the University of Antwerp. My interests lie primarily in the management during and after cancer treatment. With the importance of and attention to side-effects during and after cancer treatment, as well as how these can be examined and treated. In line with that, digital interventions to encourage self-management (by giving education, helping in behavioral change, …) in these patients, as standalone intervention or as blended care, I consider to be an interesting access point for helping these patients.
Currently, I am primarily working in a team, on a big RCT-study (the PECAN-study) in which we want to look at the effectiveness of an eHealth self-management intervention in breast cancer survivors with persistent pain. This with the guidance of Prof. Dr. An De Groef, Prof. Dr. Geert Crombez and Dr. Lore Dams. Nevertheless, seen as this is a very big research project, a lot more experts and stakeholders are involved in supporting this research project, within the field of physiotherapy, psychology, computer sciences, patient partners, and more.
