Short bio:
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Movement and Sport Sciences at Ghent University. In 2018, I obtained my PhD with the thesis ‘Understanding sedentary behaviors in adults: a socio-ecological perspective’. Before that degree, I had studied Physical Education and Movement Sciences (Ghent University, finished 2010), and had taken a one-year Teacher Programme (Ghent University and University of Cordoba, completed 2011). My research focuses on 1) understanding sedentary behavior in (older) adults, and 2) developing, evaluating and implementing (digital) interventions to increase physical activity and reduce sedentary behavior. Through my current senior postdoctoral fellowship, I am working to develop a just-in-time adaptive prompting intervention to decrease sedentary behavior among older adults.
