Core Facilities
A Core Facility is an organisational unit, real or virtual, that offers specialised scientific expertise, services and research infrastructure for a fee to both internal and external researchers.
Core Facilities leverage scientific research because they:
- provide affordable- and time-saving access to state-of-the-art equipment and expertise,
- contribute to the development of new scientific techniques and methods and transfer technical skills.
Facilities
The following Core Facilities are operational at the faculty:
- Core ARTH Animal Facilities: for biological and biomedical (laboratory animal) research
- Core ARTH Infinity: for preclinical medical imaging
- Core ARTH Histology: for histochemical analysis of tissues
- Core BioAnalytical Tools & Tech: for BioAnalytical equipment and technology
- Core Clinical Tissue & Cell Culture: for human tissue and cell culture
- Core Flow Cytometry: for analysing and sorting cells
- Core Movelab: for the scientific study of human movement
- Core Zebrafish Facility Ghent: for disease modelling using the model organism zebrafish (Danio rerio).
In addition, the faculty is launching a group purchase of frequently used software packages:
