Impact of Hemodialysis on Antibiotic Disposition in Adults
Project 2 Impact of Hemodialysis on Antibiotic Disposition in Adults
Description
Patients with severe renal insufficiency may present with altered drug absorption, distribution and elimination. Also renal replacement therapy is known to impact drug elimination. In this project, we investigate antibiotic disposition in adults on intermittent hemodialysis, in order to derive evidence-based dosing regimens.
Funding
This research project is performed in collaboration with prof. S. Eloot and prof. W. Van Biesen from the department of nephrology of the Ghent University Hospital.
