Basic and Translational Endocrinology
The Basic and Translational Endocrinology (BaTE) unit studies sex hormone signaling in non-reproductive target tissues including liver and bone. By combining mouse models of deficient sex hormone action with omics approaches, we aim to understand how sex hormone receptors regulate physiological processes in metabolic and bone health, and how this regulation is altered in clinically relevant situations such as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and transgender therapy.
Infrastructure and techniques
Mouse breeding and handling, PCR, qRT-PCR, western blotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, cistromic and transcriptomic analyses
