Project 1
Glycosylation of Prostate-Specific Antigen and Possible Diagnostic Applications
Description
Previously, we have demonstrated that urine N-glycosylation patterns can differentiate between healthy volunteers, patients with benign prostate hyperplasia and patients with prostate cancer. Currently, we are conducting a validation study to allow the implementation of the urine N-glycosylation marker into daily practice. Next, we are assessing if urine N-glycosylation patterns can be used as a prognostic marker for primary prostate cancer treatment. Lastly, we are evaluating the intrapatient differences between urine and tissue N-glycosylation patterns for optimizing the diagnostic and/or prognostic properties of this biomarker.
