Accreditation by ITCIT and NASCE
ITCIT
CETRAS is one of the main pillars of the 'Institute for Training and Clinical Innovative Technologies' Gent (ITCIT). This training centre located at the campus of Ghent University Hospital is under the directorship of Wouter Willaert.
NASCE
Together with 12 other centres in Europe, ITCIT has received a unique multispecialty format accreditation by the Network of Accredited Skills Centres in Europe (NASCE), which is a joint committee of the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes (UEMS).
The missions of ITCIT
- Development and application of simulation and innovative techniques to ensure patient safety, education, training, research, and quality management in health care
- Development of a multidisciplinary platform to facilitate, interchange, and improve innovative and simulation technology within Ghent University Hospital, Ghent University and its affiliated partners through inventories, evaluations, and valorizations of skills training
- Development of a network that stimulates the collaboration among undergraduates, postgraduates, medical specialists, and paramedics and that also involves domestic and foreign partners
