The department has several labs with a wide array of analytical and archaeometrical instruments. There is also an archaeological depot that houses objects and archives from past excavations and research projects

Analytic Chemistry
Research professor Peter Vandenabeele is in close collaboration with the XMI-group and the RAMAN-group of the Department of Analytic Chemistry. A series of labs and analytic instruments can be used within the framework of research projects and under supervision of Prof. dr. ir. Vandenabeele.
- XRF laboratory: handheld Omega - InnovX-Systems and Total-reflection X-ray (XRF) instrumentation
- Raman spectrometry (4 instruments, in collaboration with the Raman Spectometry Research Group)
- Olympus Research light microscope with UV-fluorescence and digital camera
- 3D scanner
