History of the collection L06

With the foundation of the department of Early Modern History in 1991 and the subsequent move of this department to the fifth floor of the Blandijn, the seminar collections of the Middle Ages and the Modern Times were separated. The collection relating to the Modern Times largely moved along with the staff. This led to a new and separate classification system for certain sections.

During the years of the department library, the collections of political and socio-economic history grew strongly. When Hilde De Ridder-Symoens joined the department, the collection of cultural and educational history was also thoroughly expanded.

2010. History seminar library 

In the autumn of 2013, the collection was transferred to the Faculty Library of Arts and Philosophy. Part of the collection was stored in the depot (mainly less topical works).
