Course reserves

Course Reserves contain materials (books, e-publications, etc.) linked to the courses of the current academic year.

If the lecturer of a course has requested Course Reserves, that lecturer will receive a PDF overview from the Faculty Library of Arts and Philosophy containing all available publications to publish on Ufora with the course.

Physical items from the collection of the Faculty Library of Arts and Philosophy (including books, CD-ROMs/DVDs...) are displayed on Course Reserves in the Loveling reading room (Rozier 44 - ground floor) near the Loveling circulation desk , arranged by academic year and course.

Physical items from the Book Tower collection are displayed in the reading room on the Book Tower Course Reserves (Rozier 9), arranged by academic year and course.

Depending on the number of students within the course unit, the teacher decides on the length of the loan period of (physical) items placed on the Course Reserves. The loan period is visible on the label of the item and can also be consulted in the catalogue. Course Reserves items in the Faculty Library of Arts and Philosophy may be ‘no loan’ (i.e. only consultable in the reading room on site), ‘very short loan’ (1 day) or ‘short loan’ (1 week).

Items that are only available digitally are referred to with a link in the PDF overview that the lecturer can place on Ufora. E-books that are part of a paying agreement between UGent and the publisher can only be consulted within the UGent domain (login required). Since the availability of a digital work may be bound by terms of current subscriptions, it is advised to download this work as soon as possible via the link provided.
