Agoria - Young people’s vision on technology, industry and work

About

In this digital world, numerous opportunities present themselves in the field of employment. IT specialists and engineers are more sought-after than ever and even in the strictly technical professions there is a serious shortage of such people as welders and mechanics. It is therefore partly in this context that Agoria Flanders is asking itself further questions in the light of successful innovation and economic growth. After all, sufficient employees with the right skills are indispensable components in a well-functioning machine. Young people are therefore an important target group in Agoria Flanders’ many awareness campaigns and studies: Agoria aims to ‘make young people aware of technical, scientific and ICT training courses and the job opportunities which they offer, in addition to better attuning the training courses to the needs of the market.’

As part of this project, the MICT research group is carrying out a large-scale enquiry amongst Flemish youngsters with the emphasis on the place that technology and science occupy in their social environment.
