Katrien De Moor studied Communication Sciences at Ghent University. She obtained her Master's degree in 2005. Since then, she has been working as a researcher at MICT.

Katrien is passionate about user research and has conducted user studies in relation to a wide range of topics (e.g. early user involvement, innovation foresight, gaming...). She used qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method approaches.

Her main research activities are situated in the domain of user-centered Quality of Experience (QoE) for different types of applications and services: mobile video, adaptive video streaming, cloud-based services, mobile gaming…

In 2012, she obtained her PhD from Ghent University with a thesis entitled "Are engineers from Mars and users from Venus? Bridging gaps in Quality of Experience research: reflections on and experiences from an interdisciplinary journey".

In 2012, Katrien was granted with a European Marie Curie postdoc fellowship (ERCIM Alain Bensoussan Fellowship Programme). She is currently continuing her interdisciplinary research activities on QoE at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Department of Telematics.
