Julie holds a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences with a specialisation in New Media and Society from Ghent University (summa cum laude) and a Master’s degree in Comparative and International Politics with a specialisation in International Relations from KU Leuven (magna cum laude). During her studies in Leuven, Julie worked as a Research Assistant for the University of Oxford (Department of Politics and International Relations). In August 2022, Julie started working as a doctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. dr. Ralf De Wolf. Her PhD focuses on surveillance in the smart home. Julie explores how privacy and family dynamics are negotiated in a smart home context.
