Experts in anti-doping and forensic science will talk about different perspectives on the challenges and investigation of diverse designer drugs.
Three international PhD jury members will provide a talk of 25 min (+10 min questions) regarding their expertise and insight on how to investigate and cope with designer drugs in the field of anti-doping and the field of forensic toxicology/medicine.
Dr. Irene Mazzoni is the Associate Director of the Prohibited List, at the Department of Science & Medicine at the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Dr. Mazzoni will speak about the challenges of designer drugs in doping control.
Prof Henrik Gréen is professor in forensic sciences at Linköping University with a research focus on the mechanism of action and the toxicity of new psychoactive substances (NPS, designer/internet drugs). Prof Gréen's lecture will be about NPS prevalence, metabolism and pharmacodynamics to provide a Swedish perspective.
Prof Volker Auwärter is head of the deparment of the Medical Centre at the University of Freiburg. Prof Auwärter will talk about LSD derivatives as a class of designer psychedelic drugs.
