Presentation by Dr. Emmanuel Procyk (Centre national de la recherche scientifique, France).

Multiple theories are proposed to account for the neural correlates of adaptive behaviours in the MCC and for the still unclear effects of MCC lesions on cognition and behaviour.

In this presentation I will present recent chemogenetic experiments and neurophysiological recordings in monkeys supporting a role of MCC in providing a drive to sustain time extended, and in particular exploratory, behaviours.
