Luc Martens

Luc Martens is M.Sc. (1986) and PhD. (1990) in electrical engineering from the Ghent University and part-time Professor since 1993. Since 1991, he manages the WAVES-WiCa research group at the department of Information Technology (INTEC) of Ghent University. His research group is also integrated in imec.

His expertise and current interests are in modelling and measurement of antennas and electromagnetic channels for wireless systems and of electromagnetic human exposure e.g., around telecommunication networks and systems such as cellular base station antennas, in IoT devices, and in recommender systems.

He is author or co-author of more than 300 peer-reviewed journal publications and 1 book. In 2000, he started the spin-off company Excentis,

He is the chairman of the steering group of the “Strategic International Partnership University of California at Berkeley” 

of Ghent University.
