Mmmonk School 2024 with Christopher de Hamel

Join us on 22 November, 29 November and 6 December for a new edition of the Mmmonk School! Bruges Public Library and the Henri Pirenne Institute for Medieval Studies (UGent) will host the third edition of Mmmonk school in the autumn of 2024. Mmmonk School offers lessons for advanced beginners about the medieval book. It is an interdisciplinary practice-focused programme about medieval Flemish manuscripts. Experts introduce the main concepts, skills and methods of their given field of expertise. The lessons are open to everyone. Join us on three consecutive Fridays in November and December!

Online sessions (22-29 November) start at 4pm, the evening lecture (6 December) starts at 7.30pm.

A special feature of this edition is the live closing event on 6 December (7:30 pm, Bruges Public Library) with an evening lecture by Christopher de Hamel, former expert at Sotheby's, librarian of the Parker Library of Corpus Christi College in Cambridge, and author of bestselling books on manuscripts.
