As a professor in Learning Disorders I am part of the research group RIDDL. I am very interested in how young children learn to read and perform arithmetic, and in finding out the causes underlying learning difficulties (dyslexia and dyscalculia). I look at these questions at the level of behavior and cognition, but also focus on brain development (mainly through fMRI research) and on the influence of the broader context of the child (such as their home context).
