Jolien De Clercq
Biography
Jolien De Clercq holds a master's degree in Theoretical and Experimental Psychology and a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in research. For her master's thesis, she did research on how we perceive people based on the moral decisions they make.
Since January 2024, Jolien has been working as a PhD student within the CEPEC research team in the Department of Communication Sciences. For her PhD, she is working on a European project on cancer prevention, namely the SUNRISE project. The aim of this project is to empower young adolescents against unhealthy food advertising. Specifically, they want to develop a game to help young adolescents think more critically about such advertising.
