BAFTSS 2024 Runner-up Award for Best Edited Volume

Professor Daniel Biltereyst, Dr. Ifdal Elsaket (U Leiden) and (former CIMS member) Prof Philippe Meers (UAntwerp) received the 2024 Runner-up Award for Best Edited Volume from the British Association of Film, Television and Screen Studies (BAFTSS) for their book Cinema in the Arab World: New Histories, New Approaches (2023, Bloomsbury).

The BAFTSS award jury’s comment: “The book, comprising impeccable, empirical scholarship, is a wonderful and much-needed addition to the historiography of screen cultures."
