Eumeplat special issue published in Cinéma & Cie

The peer-reviewed film and media studies journal Cinéma & Cie just published a special issue on recent trends in European cinema. The issue was edited by Professor Daniel Biltereyst (CIMS, YGent), Elena Gipponi (IULM, Milan) and Andrea Micconi(IULM, Milan), and it is part of the Horizon 2020 EUMEPLAT project. The issue contains seven original contributions, including chapters by Temenuga Trifonova (Neoliberalism and the Mutation of Social Realism in Contemporary European Cinema), Mariagrazia Fanchi and Massimo Locatelli (Beyond the ‘Cultural Exception’ Model. Film and Audiovisual Industries Between Nationalism and Europeanism, Ann Vogel and Alan Shipman (Cinema coproduction, film distribution in multiple languages and inequality in the global language system), Petar Mitric and Tamara Kolaric (The Audience Impact of Ideal European Co-production: The case of Quo Vadis, Aida?), Annalisa Pellino (Decentering Nations: The Role of National Institutes for Culture in the Promotion and Circulation of European Cinema), Valerio Coladonato, Dom Holdaway and Arianna Vietina (Popular European Cinema in the Platform Era: Circulation Cultures on YouTube), and André Lange (La collecte statistique sur le commerce cinématographique entre les Etats-Unis et l’Europe: Une esquisse historique). CIMS member Eduard Cuelenaere wrote a book review for the special issue.
