The Screen Censorship Companion published

CIMS member Prof. Daniel Biltereyst and Prof. Ernest Mathijs (The University of  British Columbia) have just published The Screen Censorship Companion. This volume is part of the prestigious Exeter Studies in Film History series by University of Exeter Press.

The book includes 19 chapters and an extensive introduction exploring theories, concepts, and perspectives on screen media and film censorship. Featuring a stellar roster of contributors, including Richard Maltby, Linda Williams, and Julian Petley, this companion offers both contemporary and historical insights into censorship practices. It examines cases from a diverse range of countries, including Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Through its detailed analyses, the volume highlights the extensive international scope of censorship and its practices.
