Media & Social Change
Focusing on issues of power and ideology in society, CIMS members critically investigate the central role of (news) media in reinforcing/contesting power relations and social change within a local and international context. Research projects address issues of distant suffering (representation and reception), public communication of refugee organizations, colonial discourses in contemporary news coverage, and the reception of health information.
